Days Gone By tells you how many days have passed.
It's still in development, but I need feedback on bugs.
Feedback is welcome. This is my first mod on Curseforge, so I hope it is useful and not insanely buggy. I will also caveat that this mod is still in sorta beta, so please set your expectations accordingly.
Every morning or every time you have slept, you'll get a dramatic day counter increase with a sound effect attached for maximum dramaticness.
It required both the server-side and client-side to work, but it has no mixins, so I assume it should be compatible with most other mods. Mind that I haven't tested for modded dimensions where you can sleep.
The mod is very customizable, intended to be fun, and simple to add to whatever pack you want. You can change the sound using a resource pack, configure the delay to match the render, and make it a countdown.
[{"text":"Day {num}","bold":true,"color":"blue"}, {"text":" ({roman_num})","color":"gray"}]
You can add a custom sound effect by making a resource pack with "dgb" as the asset folder you want to overwrite with sound and "custom.ogg" as the file you want to replace.
The config file names are daysgoneby-client.toml and daysgoneby-common.toml. They split up the mechanics, as well as some humorous functionality, between the visuals and audio.
Besides that, I would rather you explore the configuration, as listing all the features would be a bit challenging and take some of the fun out of it. If you have any specific questions, read a bit more. You can figure out what to do B).
Additionally, you may have noticed some compatibility with Serene Seasons; that's just for one of the dynamic variables used to display the season. A lovely mod I would totally check out; it's much cooler and hotter than this.
And no, I will not backport. I will consider updating to later versions, but the way I render things on screen is not very optimal for updates.
